Our GuidedPath learning format offers the freedom to study online whenever it works for you, with set deadlines and support to keep you focused on completing your coursework. It’s structured to help you balance education goals with life’s other priorities and set you up for success.
Our GuidedPath learning format offers structured learning with the flexibility of 24/7 access to the courseroom. Set deadlines help you stay focused and motivated. You’ll engage with peers for weekly discussion posts, and instructors provide regular check-ins and feedback on assignments. Tuition is billed on a pay-per-credit model for 10-week courses – plan out your degree to fit your schedule and budget.
Students who choose GuidedPath pay per course or credit, so cost depends on your courseload, as well as your program and term. Explore options for discounts, tuition assistance and other funding options to save on tuition.
*This tool provides three (3) estimates for GuidedPath tuition if you brought in: 1) no transfer credits, 2) the average number of transfer credits and 3) the maximum allowed transfer credits, effective July 8, 2024. These three (3) values are only estimates that are subject to change, are not guaranteed reflections of what you will pay for your program and do not include the cost of books, course materials, supplies, equipment and other expenses. The amount you ultimately pay for tuition will depend on your unique circumstances, such as program specialization, transfer credits and any other applicable tuition discounts.
Capella may be able to accept credits you’ve earned from another university or college. Learn more about transfer credits.

Review the learning objectives: Each quarter, the assessment rubric, coursework and weekly requirements are laid out in a format that’s simple to understand, so you know what to expect.
Complete assignments with real-world application: Connect with other students in weekly discussions guided by faculty to broaden your views and apply what you’ve learned as you complete your assignments.
Understand how grading works: You’re assessed on how well you apply your knowledge of key competencies outlined in the rubric, not just how well you memorize facts.

Because courses are not live or in-person, you do not need to attend class at a specific time. As long as you meet the weekly deadlines for assignments and discussion posts, you can study whenever it’s convenient for you.
As a Capella student, you will be automatically registered for your first course. You can connect with your academic coach if you have questions about your first course or if you need help registering for your other courses. Registration begins 3–4 weeks before the course start date. Once you have an academic plan, you can register for courses in the upcoming term.
Most deadlines for coursework occur on Thursdays and/or Sundays but may vary by program and course. You will need to turn in your assignments before 11:59 p.m. Central Time on the dates they are due.
