At Capella University, you earn your degree online instead of in a classroom, but your journey is far from solitary.
Support services and community interaction are available to help you along the way. Here’s an overview of a few support resources available.
Beginning a program can be daunting, but our enrollment counselors can assist you in getting started at Capella – from helping you decide what program is the right fit for your goals to guiding you through the application process and starting you on your journey. They can also help you navigate transfer credits and get you set up for a smooth start to your program.
Our financial aid advisors help you explore how to pay for college. They can answer your questions and provide guidance on our online financial aid resources, which provide information about federal loans and undergraduate grants, special aid programs and employer tuition reimbursement.
Once enrolled, you’ll be assigned to an academic coach to support you throughout your educational journey. Your coach will assist you with scheduling, answer questions about your academic challenges and help you stay on track to meet your goals.
Capella faculty members are experienced leaders in their fields. Many of them are practitioners who can offer insights from their real-world knowledge and experience within your chosen profession. They’re also committed to helping you pursue your goals, so they welcome your questions and can connect one on one when needed.
Students and graduates have access to the Career Development Center for advice, information and support. Career coaches host virtual webinars and workshops. Students and graduates can browse employer job listings, resume support and interview prep tools. Career Networking Circles through our Learner and Alumni Networking Platform offer a space for peer networking and opens the door to flash mentorship opportunities.
Once enrolled at Capella, you’ll have access to the student portal on Campus. In addition to being the go-to place for lessons and assignments, you can tap into an expanded network with Capella communities and Campus forums. Communities include affinity groups for shared interests and experiences, honor societies and other academic groups. Forums provide a place outside of the courseroom to discuss topics such as coursework, research, job opportunities, industry topics and other general interests.
Through TELUS® Health, Capella students can access mental, physical and financial well-being resources. Available services include addiction support, legal advice, guidance in finding child and elder care resources, stress management and more.
A dedicated team of advisors and accessibility specialists helps Capella provide access to accommodations and services to qualified students with disabilities to help them achieve their full academic potential.
Doctoral students work with a team of advisors who provide guidance during the dissertation or comprehensive exam process. Some graduate-level programs require in-person or virtual residencies that engage students in hands-on or synchronous experiences as you develop your research.
Need help finding resources or honing your writing skills for a paper or other coursework? The Capella Library and Writing Center can offer feedback and support as you work on your assignments.
In addition to the official Capella University LinkedIn page, subgroups are available to help professionals expand their network:
Capella provides a dedicated team for benefit assistance and support for students who are active-duty service members, veterans, their spouses and dependents, and Department of Defense employees.
As an enrolled student, you will have 24/7 access to technical support via phone and chat. You can also contact our AI chatbot, Ella, with advising and financial aid questions at any time.
The Capella University Alumni Association exists to create, preserve and strengthen relationships between the university and its alumni by offering engagement opportunities, career support, alumni benefits and resources for professional development.
