Sophia Admissions Pathway

Sophia can help you prepare to apply to a bachelor’s program in the FlexPath and GuidedPath learning formats* by completing no-cost courses before enrolling in your program.

*Excludes RN-to-BSN program.

FlexPath admissions*

Individuals who don’t meet the 45 transfer credits with the 2.8 GPA requirement for admissions into bachelor’s degree programs in the FlexPath learning format can become eligible by successfully completing qualifying courses with Sophia. 

GuidedPath admissions*

Individuals who need additional credits for admission into Capella bachelor’s programs may become eligible to apply with a single Sophia course, worth 4.5 transfer credits. Applicants who score 70% or better may qualify for admission to Capella.

*Sophia Admissions Pathway option is not an eligible pathway for the RN-to-BSN program.

Bridge to Bachelor’s

Earning a bachelor’s degree is a big investment. That’s why Capella allows you to take self-paced undergraduate courses pre-enrollment at no additional cost through our affiliate, Sophia. Completed courses can be applied toward select bachelor’s degrees, potentially saving you time and money.

Now that’s a good investment.

No-cost online college courses

Your enrollment counselor or academic coach can help identify which Sophia courses can be applied toward fulfilling your general education requirements. Eligible courses automatically transfer to select Capella bachelor’s degree programs. Courses are 100% online. You can take them at your own pace, whenever it’s convenient. Plus, textbooks and other course materials aren’t required. Courses taken through Sophia don’t count toward federal financial aid eligibility.
