The Capella University BS in Health Care Administration program helps you build a fundamental understanding of healthcare systems and managing health organizations. With input from the School of Business, Technology, and Health Care Advisory Board, we’ve designed a program with two specializations to help you build expertise that fits your goals.
This program provides a focused, practical exploration of the U.S. healthcare system. It’s designed to help you develop knowledge and skills essential to optimizing the effectiveness of healthcare organizations.

Applicants to the BS in Health Care Administration program must provide the following information for admission:
SAT and ACT are not required for admission.
International, FlexPath, and Accelerated Master’s Pathway applicants will be subject to additional admission requirements.

Capella University’s competency-based approach is designed to help you learn marketable skills applicable in your field. The BS in Health Care Administration degree program explores the U.S. healthcare system, including healthcare finance, marketing and strategic planning. You’ll also study organizational development and behavior, operations assessment and improvement, human resources management, quality management, statistical analysis and research methodology. The program includes collaborative group experiences to help develop communication, collaboration, problem-solving and decision-making skills that can help you improve your effectiveness in healthcare organizations.

You can complete no-cost general education courses with our affiliate, Sophia. Your enrollment counselor or academic coach can help you identify which Sophia courses are eligible to apply toward your bachelor’s degree. Courses are 100% online, so you can take them at your own pace whenever it’s convenient. Textbooks and other course materials aren’t required. Courses taken through Sophia don’t count toward federal financial aid eligibility.
